ABOUT ME

  • Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do. - Brené Brown

Walking inside my story and owning it was the most courageous thing I have ever done. Wrestling with my own shame, vulnerability, and imperfections led me to study under Dr. Brené Brown and her team to become a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator. I worked as a Registered Dietitian for 10 years, which ignited my passion to integrate shame resiliency into eating disorders, body image, and one’s relationship with food. I also enjoy working with anxiety, parenting and family relations, and questions about purpose, faith, and self-worthiness. I conduct Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ intensive workshops to help individuals Show Up, Be Seen, and Live Brave™. To feed my soul, I enjoy having dance parties with my kids and puppies, cooking adventurous recipes with my husband, and relaxing outdoors in the hammock with a good book.

MY TREATMENT APPROACH

I believe healing and change comes from the experience of courage within your story, awareness of how you are protecting yourself and self-compassion for it all. I want to support my clients on their journey of “showing up” and “being seen” while they allow their truth to unfold. I also want to challenge my clients to explore their exhaustion and what is blocking true potential to “live brave.”

Brené Brown’s studies of vulnerability, courage, shame resiliency and worthiness are the foundation of my work. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems, where we explore all the ways in which we protect ourselves. We welcome all parts of ourselves into the room to get curious and compassionate about why we are struggling or feeling held back. When working with emotional or disordered eating, I use this approach to explore each individual’s relationship with their self and then also their relationship with food.
