ABOUT ME

  • Like many people, I struggled with anxiety and depression in my teens years that made it difficult to thrive and live life the way I wanted to. I know firsthand the confusion and despair that comes when you’re overtaken by anxiety but don’t understand where it is coming from or where it is safe to turn for help. As an introvert with low self-esteem, it often felt insurmountably difficult to connect or be understood. Therapy was a key part of my own journey.

While personal experience with a struggle is not necessary for a therapist to be helpful, it can also be a key part of connecting with individuals who find trust and change most difficult. Underneath my credentials, I am first and foremost a human being who wants to connect with and understand others. Can you imagine a life where what brings you joy or moves you towards your core values wins out over anxiety?

I graduated from Emporia State University with my M.S. in Clinical Counseling with a concentration in mental health and am currently licensed as an LCP. I worked mainly with adolescents during my internship which solidified my desire to work with this population. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, video games, reading, and providing ample head scratches to my two beautiful cats.
